The Body Shop International Limited

Founded in 1976 in Brighton, England, by Anita Roddick, The Body Shop is a global beauty brand. The Body Shop seeks to make a positive difference in the world by offering high-quality, naturally inspired skincare, body care, hair care and make-up produced ethically and sustainably. Having pioneered the philosophy that business can be a force for good, this ethos is still the brand's driving force.  The Body Shop is part of Natura &Co, a global, multi-channel and multi-brand cosmetics group that is committed to generating positive economic, social and environmental impact. The Body Shop has always campaigned for issues that it believes in and is currently running its biggest campaign ever, Forever Against Animal Testing, which aims to ban animal testing in cosmetics globally.

Through its unique Community Trade (CT) programme, The Body Shop sources natural ingredients and accessories direct from communities around the world. Community Trade is its commitment to trade fairly with small-scale farmers often in marginalised communities. Currently, 95% of The Body Shop products contain at least one Community Trade ingredient. At the end of 2017, The Body Shop was sourcing 24 Community Trade ingredients, as well as numerous accessories from 31 Community Trade suppliers in 23 countries.
